New rickhouse rules move to legislative bodies

O.Z. Tyler Distillery has already made its decision to build nine new bourbon barrel storage facilities in Ohio County after more than six months of haggling, and negotiating with elected officials over what they called burdensome zoning restrictions in Daviess County. But that hasn’t stopped Daviess Judge-Executive Al Mattingly from moving forward with a zoning ordinance amendment that would allow those storage facilities — sometimes called rickhouses — in agricultural-zoned areas, rather than the more restrictive heavy industrial zones they’re limited to now.
